It's 1945, and with World War II finally in the rearview mirror, American optimism is once again returning to cities throughout the country. Also returning are the three Matsumoto sisters -- Rose, Grace and Chiz -- to their family home, a farm outside of Stockton, California, after internment in Arkansas. An integral part of their community before the war, the Japanese-American sisters soon discover that picking up where they left off will be more difficult than they ever imagined. Balancing romance, comedy and heartwarming drama, Sisters Matsumoto tells an important and timely story about what it truly means to be American. It's presented at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek.
