Of Gentlemen and Cowards are a Canadian band established in late 2010.
Formed during their freshman year at McMaster University, the young band is a quartet who weave delectable choruses and audience-arresting groove into a sound uniquely their own.
Being a featured act for their university's Welcome Week and Homecoming celebrations, the foursome continued to use their campus and the local Hamilton music scene as a Petri dish to develop their vibrant stage camaraderie and dynamic musical composure. In addition to a two-week tour of Ontario and Quebec during the dog days of summer 2011, their DIY approach to writing, recording, and promoting their operation has allowed them to be featured on Y108's New Music Hour, CHML AM900 and CFMU's Lullabies in Razorland.
Since releasing their demo EP Threads in early 2011, Of Gentlemen and Cowards have shared the stage with the likes of other Canadian groups such as The Reason, Hey Ocean!, The Midway State, and the Arkells and have recently made available two songs as the Warminster release.
Winning the 2012 McMaster and subsequent Ontario Campus Music Explosion finals, the band is also due to perform throughout the year at the other campuses involved in the competition and opened up the main stage at this year's Burlington Sound of Music Festival. Winning the Redbull Soundstage Audience Choice, they were seen past this September on The Late Show With David Letterman in promotion with the film We Made This Movie, in which their song Save Me was included on the official soundtrack.
Whether it be in someone's basement or on a festival stage, the band's passion for music is driven by a love of playing for one another and the audiences in front of them and are currently in the midst of demoing songs for an early 2013 single release.
Of Gentlemen and Cowards is Simon Edwards (vocals/guitar), Josh Dawson (bass/vocals), Christian Fedele (guitar/vocals), and Jake Warren (drums).
