Music Director and Maestro Ludovic Morlot will be at the baton in Benaroya Hall for the Seattle Symphony's world-premiere performance of the first-ever symphony by Grammy, Pulitzer Prize-winning and Oscar-nominated American composer David Lang (The Little Match Girl Passion, Youth). Co-founder of the musical collective Bang on a Can, Lang's well-known for his modern, conceptual pieces, and his symphony without a hero will no doubt contrast nicely with Richard Strauss' 1898 tone poem, the self-aggrandizing Ein Heldenleben (A Hero's Life).
