A talented group of high school students explore the dangers of workplace romances to both comic and dramatic effect in the Tony Award-winning musical The Pajama Game. Conditions at the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory are getting steamy as sparks fly between new superintendent Sid Sorokin and Babe Williams, leader of the union grievance committee. Their stormy relationship comes to a head when the workers strike for a pay increase, setting off a conflict between management and labor -- not to mention an epic battle of the sexes. The Pajama Game boasts a timeless jazzy score by the composers of Damn Yankees, with songs like "Steam Heat," "Hey There" and "Hernando's Hideaway." This ever-popular show won the 1955 Tony for for Best Musical and claimed the award for Best Revival in 2006. Now, as part of the Rising Star Project, teens from throughout the Puget Sound bring this entirely student-led show to the stage of the 5th Avenue Theatre.
