The one-woman show Holding the Edge rewinds time to January 28, 1986, where you'll meet Elaine, a hospice nurse and Cub Scout mom. She finds herself in the chaotic socio-political center of the AIDS epidemic on the day of the Challenger explosion, confronting the relative value that society places on human lives. What does an irreverent and outraged lesbian -- who also happens to be in the midst of early sobriety efforts -- do? Determined to keep "holding the edge" for her patients, Elaine starts a riot. Written and performed by Elaine Magree, this button-pushing, thought-provoking solo show marches boldly into The Marsh San Francisco's MainStage Theatre.
