Months before he'd even opened his fine dining Chinese restaurant, Mister Jiu's in San Francisco, visionary chef Brandon Jew was already getting ink in The New York Times and, well, whatever the equivalent of digital "ink" is on food blogs everywhere. Now he joins the Food on Film series to discuss Big Trouble in Little China, a movie he's loved ever since he first saw it in kung fu school as a child. With its mix of American and Chinese cultures, the film's playful take on Chinatown's underworld was even an inspiration for Mister Jiu's. Enjoy the colorful conversation, the screening of Big Trouble in Little China and snacks inspired by the film and specially made by Mister Jiu's team. Food on Film is presented at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco's Kanbar Hall.
