Discover why The New York Times crowned Ballet Arizona "one of the most enterprising companies anywhere" in Today's Masters. This boundary-pushing production at the Orpheum Theatre features work from Ballet Arizona's artistic director Ib Andersen and Ballet Arizona dancer Nayon Iovino. Staged by Ib Andersen with music by Ludwig Minkus, the two-act ballet Paquita tells the story of how a young girl is rescued by a gypsy band. Iovino creates a performance inspired by Igor Stravinsky's Jeu de cartes (Card Game). The work delves into the mind of a person suffering from multiple personality disorder, with each personality expressing itself at each change of the music.
