Ballet Arizona's artistic director Ib Andersen, a former Balanchine protégé at the New York City Ballet, is known for his "rare acuity" when it comes to reimagining the legendary choreographer's works, according to The New York Times. Andersen's annual tribute to the master includes works from three different decades, including Allegro Brilliante, Stravinsky Violin Concerto and La Sonnambula (The Sleepwalker). The May 3 show also includes farewell performances by retiring company dancers Paola Hartley and Astrit Zejnati, along with an excerpt from Mosaik.
