Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Los Acie (born Carlos Acie) is a hip hop icon in the making whose musical influences include that of Kanye West, Ludacris, Eminem, Common and Lupe Fiasco.
The youngest of three brothers, Los Acie grew up with one big love: football. At Penn Hills High School, he served as a running back—a very talented one at that. However, hip hop music would ultimately steal his heart, becoming his real, true love.
To hone his visual arts skills, Los attended and graduated with a degree in fine arts from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University in Philadelphia. His education in this field has an undertone foundation to the musician he is today, making him a true artist in every sense of the word.
Los’s interest in Hip Hop started in school merely as a hobby. He rapped here and there with some friends, but never anything serious—yet that is. While in school, he was surrounded by a close group of friends who loved to rap. After graduating high school and going their separate ways, those same friends eventually signed to Fabolous’s record label, Desert Storm, in 2008.
While happy for his friends’ success, he felt himself capable to produce the same quality and began writing songs for fun. That fun quickly turned into love after experiencing the artistic expression through rap that caught a hold of him. Of course, he hasn’t looked back since. To date, he’s released three mixtapes and an EP.
