Bertolt Brecht's The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui is a thinly-veiled allegory of the rise of Adolph Hitler and the Nazi Party in Germany. This parable play -- written in 1941 by one of the masters of 20th century theater -- chronicles the rise of a fictional Chicago mobster who ruthlessly rules over his territory in the '30s. Watch as social and political corruption spiral out of control when this still-relevant satire comes to the Trap Door Theatre.
