Go behind the curtain on a guided tour of the glorious Auditorium Theatre, where you'll get an up-close look at the gorgeous gilded design of this National Historic Landmark, built by Dankmar Adler and Louis Sullivan in 1889. Dubbed "the greatest room for music and opera in the world" by none other than Frank Lloyd Wright, the stunning Romanesque-style palace is as dramatic as the productions it hosts, with its 24-karat gold-leafed ceiling arches, intricate stencil patterns, bas-relief details and nature-inspired mosaics and murals. This famed venue on the Chicago campus of Roosevelt University has hosted everything from concerts by stars like The Who and Bruce Springsteen to Broadway shows, ballet and modern dance and even the NFL Draft in 2015 and 2016.
