The Occasionalists present: "Back in the USSR - Live Karaoke for the Resistance"

Fri, Apr 21 - 7:30 pm

The Occasionalists are a Brooklyn-based band of multi-instrumentalists specializing in live karaoke gigs in and around Brooklyn where the band plays the music and the audience members sing the vocals. This will be the third in a continuing series of benefit shows for various organizations resisting the current administration's policies. This show will benefit, an international environmental rights group with a local presence in Gowanus, the Immigration Defense Project whose broad mission is to secure fairness and justice for immigrants in the United States and the Safe Passage Project, which addresses the unmet legal needs of indigent immigrant youth living in NYC by provide them with legal advice and assistance. The band will donate all proceeds from the show to these organizations, so warm up those vocal chords and get ready to rock for a good cause. The setlist, like T*****’s mind, is all over the place, from The Beatles’ "Back in the USSR" to Cee Lo Green’s "F**k You" to Fiona Apple’s "Criminal" to Gil Scott Heron’s "The Revolution Will not be Televised"... and so many more. For more information and complete set list, visit The Occasionalists Facebook page.
