Union Hall presents Dark Spots, a stand-up comedy showcase where the city's best comedians will perform their darkest, saddest, and most traumatic--but still funny--material.
The show is hosted by Shane Torres (CONAN), Nate Fridson (AST Records) and Alison Zeidman (Humor Contributor, New York Times), and has run on first Saturday nights at the popular alt comedy club The Creek & The Cave for over a year. The show was also recently selected for the 2016 New York Comedy Festival, produced by Carolines on Broadway in association with Comedy Central.
Dark Spots has attracted sold-out audiences from across Northern Brooklyn and Queens, and is now expanding with this special quarterly Union Hall showcase.
“Yes, it’s all super dark subject matter, but we promise this is still a comedy show,” says co-host and -producer Shane Torres. “The three of us love this kind of material, and we wanted to give comics a stage where they can do it for an audience that knows what they’re in for and is ready to laugh with us through the pain. We’re very excited to bring the show to a wider audience with Union Hall.”
