Famed for their sumptuously staged, beautifully costumed and impeccably performed versions of the classics, the Russian National Ballet returns to New York's Lehman Center with another pair of all-time favorites. The 50-member company, led by former Bolshoi principal dancer Elena Radchenko, brings Shakespeare's timeless tale of tragic love to life with its staging of Petipa's Romeo and Juliet, set to a Tchaikovsky score. After an intermission, you'll be treated to the one-act ballet version of Bizet's opera Carmen, by Cuban choreographer Alberto Alonso.
