A timely new one-woman show, Facing Exclusion sheds light on the lives of two remarkable Chinese-American immigrants: Harry H. Dow, the first Chinese-American to practice law in Massachusetts, and Tien Fu Wu, a former child servant turned San Francisco missionary. Christina R. Chan writes, directs and performs this piece, which marks the 135th anniversary of the Chinese Exclusion Act. This ArtsEmerson program will also feature a farce written by Dow and Unbinding our Lives, which brings to life the words of three Chinese-American women. Afterward, the audience will be invited to join in a conversation about immigration.
